PTA President

Bailey Van Zee: This is Bailey’s 4th year on the Hill PTA, but it is her first year on the board. She is from Blair, NE and went to Wayne State College receiving her bachelor's degree in business. She moved to Lincoln in 2009 after meeting her husband. Mark and Bailey have 3 kids: Raylon 10 (4^th grade), Loretta (pre-k) and Morgan. They also run a retriever training business. When Bailey is not helping with the kennel, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and cheering on the UBT Hawks and Husker football teams! What Bailey loves about Hill is the small school feel and how friendly and eager the community is to help all the students have a great school experience!

PTA Treasurer

Jennifer Hunke: This is Jennifer’s 7th year on the PTA, and 3rd year serving as Treasurer. She also has been a room parent and helped with the Philanthropy Committee. She grew up in Scribner, NE and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she received her Master’s Degree in Accounting. Jennifer's son Will is in 4th grade, and her older son Ben is a 7th grader at Scott Middle School. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with a good book and hot cup of coffee. As a family, they try to get out once a week to play a friendly round of golf (sometimes not so friendly) …and spend lots of time at Husker sporting events. What she loves most about Hill is the staff. The teachers, administrators and support staff all go the extra mile for the kids!

PTA Vice-President

Heidi Hayes: This is Heidi’s fourth year on Hill PTA and board. She was born and raised right here in Lincoln. She has 3 children that attend Hill, her son Noah in 4th grade and twins Madi & Jordy in 3rd grade. She is excited to serve as Vice President of Hill PTA this year and volunteer at school as much as possible. In her free time, she loves to read, cook, go on walks, and spend time with family & friends. What she loves most about Hill is our small school that has such a friendly community feel!

Administrative Advisors

Emily Wiebeck, Principal: Assistant Principal of Ruth Hill Elementary! Some students and administrators will recognize Mrs. Wiebeck as she was previously at Hill in 2019-2020 as a Professional Learning Coach. She was born and raised right here in Lincoln! Mrs. Wiebeck attended Midland University where she received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Educations with an emphasis in Early Childhood & Applied Behavior Analysis. She then moved onto Doane University for her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and returned for her Master’s in Educational Leadership. What she loves about working with children is how eager they are to learn and love you! Not a day goes by without a smile! When she’s not at Hill Elementary, she loves spending time with her high school sweetheart Brett and their four children: Adelle (8), Cooper (7), Henderson (1), and Langdon (5 months). As a family they love to go camping, bowling, swimming, and having lazy movie nights. Her favorite mantra to live by is, “Learn from yesterday, Live today, Hope for tomorrow!”
